UNIT 10: Portfolio planning

Above is sticky notes. On them is where images and cover sheets are going. This has helped me so I don’t forget where everything is going.

UNIT 10: Chester University Unistat research

above is the link for Chester University. I have heard mixed things about the course and would like to see the stats for the course.

Screen shot 2015-10-12 at 13.52.41

The above is the stat for how well organised the course is. This is bad because I need some organisation to cope.

The above is the stat on feedback. This is bad because I really like feedback on how to improve on my weaknesses and coursework.

At the end of  the day they are just stats and the course may be better than the stats suggest.

UNIT 10: UCLAN Unistat research

Above is the link to the UCLAN Unistat page. I have heard really good things about the university and wanted to check out how the stats was.

Above is the stats for how feedback is. This is really bad as I like to have feedback on my work so I know how to improve on my weakness and coursework.

Above is the stats of how I will be assessed. As the exams are practical I will be ok with the exams. Due to the coursework being the main part of it I am happy about the assessments because I find coursework easier to do than exams.

Above is the stat for how well the course is ran. I am not happy about this stat because I really don’t like disorganised  courses because I need some organisation to cope.

After reading these stats I am put of this university now but they are stats at the end of the day and the course may not be as bad as the stats make it out.

UNIT 10: Hugh Baird College Unistats research

Above is the link to Hugh Baird College stats. I only looked at the student satisfaction because the only worry I had about the course was what it is was like to be on the course. After reading the stats those worries are put to rest. Screen shot 2015-10-12 at 13.35.16

The above is the stats for timetables. This year the timetables are really messed up so I didn’t want that if I came on to this course. Reading this stat has made me more relaxed about the timetables.

The above is stats for how well the course is running. At the start of the year rooms we being changed around so this disrupted the course and if I do go onto the course I don’t want that because I hate being unsure about things.

The above is about the work on the course. I am glad there are no exams only coursework because I really struggle with exams.

UNIT 10: Photography portfolio tips

In google I typed in “photography portfoilo tips” and here are some of the pages I found helpful.

UNIT 10: Hugh Baird College photography degree course research.

In-depth I have looked at the degree course at Hugh Baird college. This is what I found out:

  • It is 3 years on the course. 2 years is the foundation degree and the 3 year is the full degree,
  • For one year the cost is £6000. For the 3 years this would be £18000.
  • There is tuition loan which pays for the cost of the course. The tuition loan I will need to pay back but I don’t have to start paying it back until I am earning over £21000. There is a maintenance grant which I don’t need to pay back and a maintenance loan which I do need to pay back along with my tuition loan.
  • You need 160 UCAS points to get onto the course along with an interview and a portfolio. There is nothing on getting a C in English and Math’s.
  • David Lockwood and Tadhg Devlin is the tutors of the course.
  • Completing the foundation degree I can move onto the 3rd year which is the full degree.
