The link is Ikea’s website. From the website I can tell they do everything relating to the home. Ikea has won numerous awards for their adverts such as Campaign Media Award 2012. Ikea has also ranked 80th in Fortune’s 200 Best Companies to Work For in 2006 and again October 2008. http://www.ikea.com/ms/en_GB/this-is-ikea/about-the-ikea-group/index.html. From reading the about page of Ikea I can tell Ikea’s mission is “To create a better everyday life for the many people”. To me this clearly shows Ikea’s target audience, the everyday family. The target market is further revealed by this statement “to offer a wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible will be able to afford them”. This tells me that they are also aiming for low income families as well as everyday families. According to the website the Ikea name is a blend of the founders name, Ingvar Kamprad (IK) and the village where the founder grew up, Elmtaryd and Agunnaryd (EA). Over the years the Ikea logo hasn’t changed much. Advert 1 I like because the message is clearly shown. To me the message is you can get cheap furniture for a small space. I don’t like the advert because of the cat because I don’t see the point of having a cat in the image which is about furniture. The advert is very easy to recreate because we only need the same furniture in the same set up and take the image.

Advert 2 I like because it clearly shows what Ikea is all about, refurnishing homes. I don’t like the star banner as I feel it takes away from the advert and meaning. Removing the star banner will also make the text stand out more.

Advert 3 I like because it simple but effective. It clearly shows what Ikea is all about, refurnishing homes. The advert does this by saying “Redecorate your life.” I find the “Quit your job” not right because the advert is telling you to quit your job so you can refurnish your house which is not right in my opinion.
